You're in the wilderness. You left your camera at home. The only thing you're carrying is a rifle. Bigfoot strolls by. Would you shoot it?
Yes, I'd shoot to kill.

Yes, I'd shoot it, but I'd only try and maim it.

Laughing Well, America doesn't have homeless person hunting permits anyway. One day, they will probably have a season and licenses for Sasquatch hunting, though. I think that Nepal is issuing hunting licenses for the Yeti. Its only a matter of time for the US. Smile

Are you patronizing me and my thread. If so, take a hike buddy! Twisted Evil

Well, I wouldn't say I'm a believer, but I wouldn't be surprised if that species exists or at one time existed. Seems there must be a "missing link" sort of species that had lingered for some time after homo sapiens developed. What do you think?

Welp... Is it sufficient to say that I spent six years as a Park Ranger in the North Cascades mountain range? I saw some things that were very disturbing while working in the park. Things that can't easily be explained away as human. And I know a ton of people that have also seen or had strange things happen to them (bigfoot related, of course).

Personally I’d say it’s highly unlikely (though not impossible of course) that Bigfoot exists. Believers will always use the argument:

Yeah I agree totally but looking at it logically; the Bigfoot phenomenon has been around for years. They are allegedly seen by people so this indicates populated or fairly populated areas so something that big that needs to eat, needs shelter (I’d assume) & dies at some point etc etc; we would have some kinda REAL no argument proof of it’s existence by now I’d say!

I agree that the existence of Bigfoot is pretty unlikely, but . . . I think that there are wilderness areas in the world that humans haven't really explored well at all, and few people are able to get into these areas. If Bigfoot has taken one of these areas to be its habitat, then it would be highly unlikely that we would have many opportunities capture or to see a dead one. Bloo will have to correct me on this, but I got the impression that the forests around the Cascades had large regions that were inaccessible. I remember a story about DB Cooper. Some guy hijacked a plane took some money, and parachuted out into a forest in Oregon, and was never seen again. There was no way to track him, even though they knew pretty well where his landing site would be just because the forest was so thick.

OK, I'm rambling now. Don't meean to derail the thread. Smile

Inaccessible on wheels, yes. There are vast wilderness areas in the entire Casacade mountain range that are accessible by foot only.... many areas are only accessible with rock climbing gear. Most people are too lazy to hike 40 miles, don pitons and scale a 10,000' peak.

I keep in mind how often we see dead animals in the wild. You can drive down the road and see tons of carcasses but how often while walking deep in the forest do you find the remains of a creature? Most are either hunted or scavenged by other animals. Considering the amount of animals you'd expect by random chance you'd happen to come across a few.

I also think overgrowth would hide much of the remains. Plus animals dying a natural death always seem to prefer secluded areas that nothing else will find them.

Another idea is if they are more intelligent who's to say that don't have some sort of primitive culture and they place their dead into graves, although unlikely Razz

Also there's many thoughts that they are purely spirit instead, which if their body isn't physical then there won't be remains to be found.

No, I wouldn't shoot unless attacked and from what I've heard that

isn't likely to happen. Besides...everyone knows the Sasquatch are

notorious for being huge "coke monkeys"............... Shocked
