Now... please, do tell us your opinion on Bigfoot. |
I believe it is possible for a mammal like Bigfoot to exist, to seriously deny the possibility is a sign of a closed mind.
If I shot one, it would be a crippling shot, serious enough to bleed freely but not disable. Hopefully it would try to return to where it lived. The blood trail would be easy to follow.
I would prefer a female Bigfoot. |

Bloo, I prefer females, not Chubby Checker clones. |

| Well If I didn't bring a camera of any kind I would bring a tranquilizer rifle as I don't hunt but capturing a big foot would be nice as long as they return it to where it was captured without harming it. |

Personally I’d say it’s highly unlikely (though not impossible of course) that Bigfoot exists. Believers will always use the argument:
“Just cos one aint been found dead or captured as the ultimate proof, don’t mean to say they don’t exist”!
Yeah I agree totally but looking at it logically; the Bigfoot phenomenon has been around for years. They are allegedly seen by people so this indicates populated or fairly populated areas so something that big that needs to eat, needs shelter (I’d assume) & dies at some point etc etc; we would have some kinda REAL no argument proof of it’s existence by now I’d say!

Well, the Patterson film is as close as it gets to being no argument real. On first look is appears fake, but it's the little things that seem unlikely to be fake...
1. The creature has breasts, and it's something that was only recently discovered, not something noticed 35 years ago. If it was fake, it is highly unlikely that someone would go out of their way to create a female Bigfoot costume, and never mention that there was evidence of it being female.
2. The film clearly shows muscle striation and movement. 1960's movie special effects technology can't duplicate that, hell, 2006 state of the art Hollywood costume designing can't duplicate that.
3. In a couple of frames of the film, the creature clearly has a leg injury of some kind, as a portion of the leg balloons out when weight is put on it.
4. As the creature turns to the camera, it turns it's whole upper body, just as gorillas would. That is one of those little subtlties that is unlikely to have been purposely faked, as no evidence of that kind ever existed prior to the Patterson film, which means no expert could have pointed out that apes and humans don't turn their heads in the same manner, thus clueing the supposed hoaxers in on what to do for realism... And I seriously doubt these men studied apes.
5. The gait of the creature is completely different from a human's, and would be difficult for a human to duplicate consistantly for that span of time, and on that kind of terrain.
6. Though not part of the Patterson film, Bigfoot foot prints have been found with dermal ridges on them.
7. Fairly recently, a Discovery Channel program, about Bigfoot, featured experts in various fields of study... Among them was the, I believe, director of primate studies at the American Museum of Natural History, and a former FBI finger prints expert. On national tv, the museum director, upon reviewing the Patterson film, in it's entirety, concluded that the creature is a real life large North American primate, and the finger print expert, after examining the dermal ridges on the foot prints, concluded that not only were they real, and not only were they all unique from set to set, but also that compared to human and ape foot dermal ridges, they are unlike any known species of large primate. And of all the experts on the show, 5 or 6, every one of them, to a man and woman, agreed that all the evidence they saw was of high quality, and warranted serious study into Bigfoot. NONE of these people were Bigfoot investigators.
I've been in bear country a few times in my life, and never saw a bear. No one has ever seen a dead bear in the wild... This is not evidence that bears don't exist. No one ever saw a dead mountain gorilla, or photographed one, or captured one, and they were an unknown species to science, even though the area they inhabit was settled by people decades before the gorilla was discovered. The evidence that exists supporting the existance of Bigfoot is a 100 times better than the evidence that mountain gorilla's existed.
And no, I wouldn't shoot it... Especially in King County, Washington, where Bipedus Giganticus (Bigfoot, duh) is a protected species listed on a wetlands inventory list. |
