McCain suggests military-style invasion modeled on the surge to control inner city crime.
Today, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) spoke to the National Urban League, a group “devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream.” When an audience member asked him how he planned to reduce urban crime, McCain praised Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s efforts in New York Cirty before invoking the military’s tactics in Iraq as the model for crime-fighting:
MCCAIN: And some of those tactics — you mention the war in Iraq — are like that we use in the military. You go into neighborhoods, you clamp down, you provide a secure environment for the people that live there, and you make sure that the known criminals are kept under control. And you provide them with a stable environment and then they cooperate with law enforcement, etc, etc.

Now that our military experts advocate approaching the “war on terror” with more policing and intelligence gathering, McCain wants to approach urban policing with more military power.

Hmmm, it would seem the Communist Manchurian Cannidate programing of John McCain has been activated.
You want American Combat troops patroling your streets? Enforcing Laws they have little or no training in. Or maybe they don't need no damned laws? I mean what would be the difference in this, from just declaring Martial Law? I don't think there is one. I mean do you think these troops are going to be calling judges for warrants before they kick in your door? Somehow I don't think that's how it works in Iraq, when they conduct an operation.

But the people they would be protecting from the criminals who also know no laws and are never placed before judges would probably thank them.
In the interests of freedom, you would have only the criminals be free. It bothers you not that there are neighbourhoods where whole populations are afraid to go out at night. Where many are still afraid when they are indoors. Where bad people do bad things to good people with complete impunity, because no-one has the balls to stop them.
You are obviously against any kind of gun restricting law. It would be inconceivable that you would allow these people no protection at all. |

It's a natural consequence of freedom that a man or women must take reasonable responsibility for thier own safety. If the law abiding people of those communities stood up, and protected thier homes and families as they should. Then the police would be needed for very little accept to transport the criminals to jail.
I am all for gun control. Check your weapon, identify your target beyond a doubt. Let your shyllow breath fade to nothing, Aquire sight picture, and slowly squeeze your properly ajusted hair trigger.
You clearly would like to be a British citizen, perhaps you should make necessary arrangement toward that end. |

If you ever broke down at night, in some of these places, you would welcome an invasion of Marines. We don;t have a major city in this nation without major gang problems and a different world in these inner city areas. East LA and South Central Los Angeles are loaded with problem gangs. |

A very small rediculously trusting piece of me almost agree's with you.
Accept I am 100% certain it would all be used as a good excuse to disarm everyone in the hood, law abiding or not.
And if they got away with it there, it wouldn't be long before suburbia and the rural area's were done exactly the same way.

it never ceases to amaze me, all the destruction of this nations foundations, of this nations wealth, and well being.
erosion of it's rights, and hijacking of the very premise from it's founding, to its future existance, from the so called "neo-cons" and the psuedo liberal system, that is NOT liberal at all.
we are no longer guided by democrats or republicans but by a new sinister order, call it what you will.
there is no liberal media, there has not been a liberal media, in this country for over 50 years.
there is a CONTROLLED media.
there is a secret government.

look up a lecturer called Gary Dorrien.
get a listen of his analisis of the war in Iraq.
