The recent reports about the sighting of a Bigfoot type of creature in the forests of Malaysia is not something new. There have been many such sightings previously in the recorded history of that country. Much notice was not taken about these cases however, as reports about paranormal incidents are rife in Malaysia. The fact that the present incident has seen so much press was due mainly to the fact that the parties who were involved hoped to gain monetarily by doing so. The Malaysian government too got into the act, hoping to promote the country as a tourist destination for those interested in the paranormal.

A' Bigfoot' sighting took place in the 1970s in a plantation I used to work in. It was a localized affair, and hardly made a ripple in any of the tabloids of the country. It has some significance however in the light of the recent sightings.

I think the reason why we until now haven't found bigfoot is because they don't live here. I think there aliens and that they visit us and leave again in there crafts.

I believe that they are very smart, but not aliens. I think they know how to hide themselves from humans and only let us see them when they want us to see them.

Revan...interesting...I have been studying Malaysian sightings...seems to be similar in nature to the Russian Alma. I have a personal theory that these creatures may be Paranthropus or Meganthropus. I don't think Gigantopithicus would be a candidate because eyewitness reports identify a "human" type face to sightings. Giganto is definitely in the Orangutang ancestral family. Thanks for the interesting post...SM.

Could it be an Orang Pendek? Which has been described as thus:

"...usually no more than 85 or 90cm in height — although occasionally as large as 1m 20cm. The body is covered in a coat of dark grey or black flecked with grey hair. But it is the sheer physical power of the orang pendek that most impresses the Kerinci villagers. They speak in awe, of its broad shoulders, huge chest and upper abdomen and powerful aims [sic]. The animal is so strong, the villagers would whisper that it can uproot small trees and even break rattan vines. The legs, in comparison, are short and slim, the feet neat and small, usually turned out at an angle of up to 45 degrees. The head slopes back to a distinct crest — similar to the gorilla — and there appears to be a bony ridge above the eyes. But the mouth is small and neat, the eyes are set wide apart and the nose is distinctly humanoid. When frightened, the animal exposes its teeth — revealing oddly broad incisors and prominent, long canine teeth."

My opinion for what it’s worth:

It’s highly unlikely a large biped like Bigfoot or its equivalent exists anywhere in the world. Simply because they would have (I would assume going by the reported size of these alleged beasts) no competition within their environment. Procreation is the main driving force of any living thing therefore I feel there would be thousands of them around in many large communities & they would not be a strange phenomenon…

If they do exist & are intelligent as some believe then not being able to get out there & explore for fear of being seen must drive them mad! Much like parrots go mad cooped up in cages! But, who really knows? I don’t, that’s for sure Smile Wink

Dej…

i think it can be possible, if we don't exclude possibility that prehistoric man (austrolopitecus or arhantropus) may existed thrue all the time period's and somehow survived till our's. yes' it could be possible, we have seen photos of bigfoot people with much higher build, why does we can't presume that somehow they didn't evolve like we did? they live by the nature law's, but we, by law's of technology and comfort.
