You say there MUST.... BE AN ENTITY opposite to all that is our existence in the confines of our earth. !!!
What if there is not ?
Does the role of faith and religion , WITH ITS BROAD RANGE OF DIFFERING PERCEPTIONS AND INTERPRITATONS OF GODS MESSAGE RING TRUE !!!
The fact that mankind can fight over this differing belief disturbs me !!!!
Is whats written in the bible fact of fiction ???
In the end is religion just a simple means to help man exist , WITHOUT THE BURNING QUESTIONS OF WHO..? WHAT...? WHY...? WHEN..? WHERE...? TO HAVE JUST ONE GOD TO FOLLOW AND TO HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO BURDEN ONE'S MIND !!
FOR WITHOUT RELIGION ..FAITH ...WOULD WE WE BETTER PEOPLE?? |
But at its source there really is no differing belief, save that which man has invented. Love thy neighbor as thyself and Do not unto others what you would not have them do unto you. Those are pretty basic principles that surpass the need for any flowery and fluffy "religion" and all its dogmatic inventions.
In the end, religion is necessary for some, and unnecessary for others.
It is like the symbol of the crucifix...(or any other religious symbol)....for those who already have their minds fixated on the infinite, then these symbols are rather meaningless and distracting....but for MANY people these things are necessary to focus their concentration...religion itself is like that....some do not "need" religion to understand "God"....some do. I know plenty of folks whose lives were changed dramatically for the better for having embraced religion....but then I also know those whose lives have been virtually destroyed by it as well.
Without faith we would be in a very poor situation...it is good to have a hope for something greater than ones-self. |
Well said, fort. |
Love thy neighbor as thyself and Do not unto others what you would not have them do unto you.
Who came up with that? |

True but if you solve the God issue, everything else will come swiftly |
Assuming it is solvable! |
It is solvable......patience will be the greatest cost.
PNG sais, "screamzero wrote:

God moves, too. Wink"
..not the point.
The remark "stillness" refers to any sentient being's free choice of willful action (of being still) which is the key to understanding the reality of G-d's presence....hence, solvable.
To simple, huh? |

Hi,
God is beyond all explanations because explanations come from the material world of duality. Any labels or ideas we have of God are simply our own minds way of putting a name to something which is un-nameable.
The best way to explain "God" is the original force that causes the manifest to become manifest.

Who came up with it?
As I recall "Do not unto others you would would not have them do unto you", comes from Confuscius. However, I doubt it matters who said it first because, as has been observed, there is no such thing as a truly original moralist. People know right from wrong. |
