It was 26F degrees in NYC this morning and 25F degrees in Northern Florida...go figure.
Edited to add degrees in F

It was up at ten degrees today. It’s normally around four, five this time of year where I live.
A few weeks ago it was snowing, so who known what the weather is going to do now. |

We would all do well to specify which unit of measurement we are using here. I use Celsius, or sometimes Kelvin, I'll always specify which.
Here right now as we speak it's 4ºC
And wet. |

That it a very good point. I was using ºC.
And I bet it’s wetter here than it is anywhere else on this board.
As I’ve said somewhere else on the site I live pretty much on a field and last weekend my back garden was under about five inches under water.
And of course me being me, I tried to go to the shed without turning the light on in my slippers. |

| Yes well it's probably wetter there than here. Here it isn't raining at the moment, but the air is always wet and it makes it dastardly hard to keep warm. At least in Alberta when it gets to like -30ºC you can keep warm by putting on heavy clothing. Here it gets -5ºC and youre lucky to keep comfortably warm because the cold goes right through your clothes. |

Ahh this is nothing... we're just getting into Dec.
Gets bad in Feb. It'll be frigid one day -0 something °F and then it'll get up into the 40's later in the week.
Usually I get a chance to break out my dual-sport and ride for a day or two each winter. Loads of fun.
Of course that's why I typically get a cold at the end of Feb. |

When I lived in Edmonton the weather would do that. -10ºC when you go to sleep and you wake up and it's 10ºC. |

Glad I didn't move to FL to get warmer... I was looking for a break from the wonderful summertime highs in Las Vegas.
I got the break, all right. 31 flippin' degrees Fahrenheit this morning here, and a new record low set in Bradenton. Like Jaack is so fond of pointing out, this "global warming" is gonna freeze all of us. HINT: If Al Gore is on the bandwagon, it's probably wrong; if Ralph Nader backs it, you KNOW it's wrong.
Doggone it, I can't find the keys to my Corvair.

Martian,
Do the Pirates still have spring training in Bradenton?
Few years back I watched a training game of their's.
Then went out for lots and lots of drinks with them afterwords.
Had a great time even being a Red Sox fan all my life, I've always like the Pirates. Made me happy this year when the Sox got Jason Bay. |

I don't know about that.

Where the water is here (from the 17th of this month) is normally a field. Where those cars are parked is a road behind them. On the left side of this bridge was a corn field this summer.
There are two bridges that cross this river. This is the old bridge. The new multi-million dollar one floods every year. That water is deep enough to take a shallow boat in. When the mountains thaw in the spring the river floods too.
(edited to get the right year of flood and add pics) |
