Oh...boy......let me just jot down that little nugget of wisdom. You give up on liberty and our Republic did you ?

In order for our Republic to work people have to be willing to self educate and think for themselves. In Communism, they just do what they're told. No thinking required.

King, I'd like to invite you to go to a country you'd like better than mine. Cuba looks like a good choice for you. Don't let the door...well you know. Wink

Nice try, Junior, and it's not "Martina", it's Martian, get it right. You didn't get the numbers right by a long shot; there's over 2,400 fighter/attack aircraft in service; the USAF operates about 1,815. But since you can't figure out how depressingly SMALL this number really is, consider where they are located:

Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, Australia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Spain, the U.K., and Panama come to mind right away. Seventeen general locations outside the continental United States just off the top of my head. The distribution of forces used to be more even, but we shut down a LOT of military air bases so you could save ten bucks off your Federal taxes.

Remember that intercept problem I posted before? Let's complicate things a little more. Airplanes are machines, and fighters are like drag racers. They require a lot of maintenance because they break down a lot. That means you don't have 1,815 USAF fighters in flyable condition at any one time; I'd estimate closer to 500 flyable aircraft, based on what I saw first-hand. Out of a worldwide fleet, only 500 working airplanes, and all because guys like Ninor don't want to pay their fair share for our defense.

Want to do something worthwhile, Ninor? Copy this post, print it and mail it to your Congressman, and tell him in no uncertain terms you want a bigger US military and you're willing to help pay for it. Otherwise, just shut up and keep your brainless conspiracy theories in the appropriate forum.

He thinks 1800 planes is a lot...we had over 6000 P-51 Mustangs, 10,000 or more P-38 Lightnings, 7500 P-47 Thunderbolts, and these are low-ball numbers. For Korea we had over 2500 F-80 Shooting Stars, over 2000 F-86 Sabres, plus leftover Mustangs and T-bolts. 1,815...that's almost funny. We ain't got the stuff to defend our own airspace. Shocked

Should I bother to mention that there were over 400 airliners in the New York-DC area at the time, or just add Ninor to the "maroon list"?

...maroon list. ...he ain't even an American citizen. Shameful. He lives with polar bears. He's a socialist Canuk that lives roughly 1000 mi or so east of an approximate latitude with Peat Falls Island. I won't give the exact coordinates because that's not very nice, but it is about 62 degrees and 27 minutes by 114 degrees and 22 minutes 585 feet above sea level....we could "drone" him.... Laughing ...he be a Super Maroon...and I think he's a little paranoid.

Hey there Martina, I said "1600+ Active Military Fighter jets in the United States". I didn't say "in the whole world". Get your facts straight little lady.

martiandrifter01 wrote:

Yes Martina, why don't you do that. Obfuscate the simple in order to make it look like your viewpoint is more accurate.

What it boils down to is that GWB was given a document months in advance of 9/11 that told him in no uncertain terms that Al Qaeda & Osama Bin Laden were going to attack the United States, and that the WTC Towers were one of his prime targets. Yet, on the day when it occurred the whole of the United States military and it's 1600+ Active Fighter jets were unable to bring down even a single one of the three Airliners used in the attacks, which happened over a time span of two hours.

That's either gross incompetence by the entire U.S. military, or they were under orders not to intercept them. There are military bases well within striking distances of all three areas the attacks happened in.

Wow, they have computers in Yellowknife? What will they think of next. I thought they were still trying to perfect flintlock machine guns.

It's all good, Ninor, I didn't expect any better of your elk anyway. No, I didn't misspell that, it was a deliberate moosetake.

That was hilarious, SZ, but I forgot what post I got it off. The famous English invention, the Puckle Gun. Absolutely, totally LMFAO over that one.

Come off it, guys. It wasn't my geo data, I was reasonably sure SZ made it up. I plugged it into Google Earth to see what came up.

Last IP address search someone tried on me delivered the coordinates for some little town near Wichita, KS, instead of Florida (I got good security).

As for the rest, Ninor, ninor, ninor, I wasn't really trying to be mean, just have a little fun with a flamer.

Personal info? It's not exactly your street number or color of the streaks in your not-so-tidy whiteys, ninor.

Fair's fair, though: 82 N 27 W, be happy, I'm within a 40 mile radius of that one, and it's flippin' COLD here!

Maroon had his crap posted all over the INTERNET via "link of pride" 'till he finally wised up and figured how foolish that was...which is a good sign 'cause that does mean he is teachable.

There was a time I coulda tracked him down that way...but I haven't pursued that stuff in a while. It's 'funner' than hell though. Serious skip trace and crack stuff. I could easily desire some profesional traing in it and pursue a living..I doubt it.... though.... it is cool.

I'm jackin' w/ other programs, equipment, and 'puter apps in re: to virtual recording studio work. I've music to write and between that and my work I actually have a life. Besides, Ninor scares me.

Getting my real one would be easy, too, but they'd have to actually buy something from me to get it. I'll be a little more honest and tell 'em to reverse the lat and lon figures. Alternatively, they can paste a map of FL over the Arctic or Greenland or something.

82 N?

Or...Lenin? Wink

You're such a bulshavik. Did I spell that one right? Probably not...but who cares about neo-commies.

BTW, let your handlers know that Real Americans are still here. report the fact that we're growing. Wink

Nesaie, the word was 'Bolshevik'. Just an FYI. Very Happy

Ninor, I missed part of one of your posts, sorry. The figure I gave you was inclusive of all fighter aircraft in USAF (active) inventory worldwide, totaling about 1,815 aircraft. Gone forever are the following: North American F-86, F-100; McDonnell-Douglas F-101, F-4; Convair F-102, F-106; Lockheed F-104; Republic F-105; Northrop F-5; General Dynamics F-111; McDonnell-Douglas F-15A. That leaves the F-15B (a trainer) and E, the General Dynamics (now Lockheed-Martin) F-16, and Lockheed-Martin F/A-22. The JSF-series F-35 has yet to be deployed. The F-117 is neither a fighter nor interceptor and lacks true all-weather capability. The USAF does not have any type or model of the Northrop-Grumman F/A-18, it's strictly Navy and USMC. Cool

Though I credit you with posing good questions, sooner or later you'll have to accept that sometimes the real answer is hard to swallow. With a lot of help, our military found themselves nearly powerless to assist. Blame the rest on the FAA, if you must have someone to blame. Sad

BTW, did you know that the IFF transponder on 'friendly' aircraft will prevent radar lock-on for target acquisition? That means the Hornet drivers would have been forced to get within 500 yards (or less) of their target for the Sidewinder missiles to lock on. Imagine getting to see the faces of the civilians you're about to sacrifice 'for the greater good' before you shoot. Shocked
