Any one who has common sense will remember that the bewilderments of the eyes are of two kinds, and arise from two causes, either from coming out of the light or from going into the light, which is true of the mind's eye, quite as much as of the bodily eye; and he who remembers this when he sees any one whose vision is perplexed and weak, will not be too ready to laugh; he will first ask whether that soul of man has come out of the brighter light, and is unable to see because unaccustomed to the dark, or having turned from darkness to the day is dazzled by excess of light.

Light is were humans feel secure as most while the darkness does the opposite and because of this light is always connected with security and good while the darkness is scary and evil which couldnīt be further from the truth.
The truth is every specie has their own definition of good and evil when it comes to symbols or whatever.
True good and evil comes from within and not by attaching the words into objects or forces. |

Yes.
Even then they had discovered how to babble. |

Hi,
I've always felt that physical light is infringing and physical darkness more peaceful. If you have two rooms side by side, one which is filled with light and the other dark, and you open the door, the light invades the darkness. Light is more forceful, and darkness more accepting.
Strange that spiritually, light is seen as a more positive force than darkness.
Its a good question though, did we come from darkness and are learning to adapt to the light? Physically I think yes, because the womb is dark. But spiritually have we come from a place of light to a world of darkness? Maybe, but maybe not, perhaps we have been taught this is a dark world spiritually, when in fact it is alive with light.

The beauty about light is that you will always find yourself in the dark again. There is always a brighter and more illuminating light to be found.
Squinting can help to adjust to the new light. |

Dawn and Dusk for me, just enough light to see while flitting through thick woods.
Dusk is the crack between the worlds. |

The name 'Lucifer' means 'light-bringer'. Is that because the Devil removed humanity's innocence and gave understanding when tricking Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge? If so, interesting connection of light with evil rather than good. |

Hmm... I like the dark, because people cannot see in the dark, so I always looked at it as, not an advantage, but a shared disadvantage that I have prepared for.
I prefer the light though, I prefer to be able to see everything, my eyes are definitely my most used resource compared to any of my other senses. Yes, light "invades" but it's just the way it is naturally, since darkness if the absence of light, light has to invade in order for any change to be made.
If my eyes could see in say.... 500nm-12mm then I would never leave my house if it wasn't dark, and I think that would be the **it actually. Alas my eyes are not thus suited, and the dark is a disadvantage. |

If light = understanding, then does darkness = what is being understood? |
