The article leaves out the very important fact that AIDS isn't just transmitted thru sex.
These are supposed to be experts asking these questions, yet they leave out the fact that DC has a huge drug epidemic, much of which is IV drug use, like most big cities in the U.S., while N. Dakota's idea of a drug problem is a drug store running out of Advil. I'm willing to bet that prostitution in DC alone is more prevelant than in all of N. Dakota... That has a tendency to jack up AIDS cases. It also doesn't help matters that the enitre state of N. Dakota has a mere 100,000 more people than DC, or that DC is 60% black, the group with the highest number of new HIV/AIDS cases, while N. Dakota has a total black population of 0.85%. |

That artical is criminal to be telling people hetrosexual risk of AIDS is gone. Far from it, and I'm 100% in agreement with Robb on this one. IV drug use, and prositition, are separate issues from Male to Male contact.
They also do not mention high risk hetrosexual sex, which is having sex with someone or someone down the chain, who had Male to Male, IV drug use, or both. If you are with someone, who has been with someone, who has been with someone, that chain multiplies drastically, to when nobody really can be sure. Every hetrosexual is now at risk to some degree.
Unfortunatly, in todays world of hetrosexual sex, who can know where the chain of partners back in time leds? One has only had 2 partners, but someone has had 10 0r 50, maybe hundreds, all making it impossible to say there is no risk.
The only hetrosexuals not at some risk, would be 2 virgins who would marry and never have another partner ever. |

| I'll believe that when I find there are no signs of bug parties. (If that's what they still call them. Bug chasers, gift givers) The risk probably is still always going to be there, it's just the fact of rather anyone has noticed it or not. (Rather any of that made any sense or not) |
